Take your Kids to Work Day November 6, 2019

Take Our Kids to Work Day

This November 6th our grade nine students participated in Take Our Kids to Work Day!  This program is offered through The Learning Partnership which is a charity that prepares students to thrive in a diverse, connected and changing world.  Take Our Kids to Work Day was launched in 1994 to help students explore career options and navigate their interests in a fun and engaging way.  This year our students interacted with a variety of work sectors including universities, police, medical, telecommunications, music, aesthetics, government, and the environment. Highlights included learning the behind scenes workings of universities, interacting with medical patients, and engaging with the acting president of Dalhousie University! One student learned to code, another discovered how ocean science can impact how we learn about climate change, one more observed a pediatrician dentist, and another learned about the Bone Anchored Hearing Aid.  Other students discovered a bit about their parents stating, “My mom works hard!” and “I learned about my mom being an entrepreneur and all that goes into running a business.”
